BLACK LIGHT DINNER PARTY Older together

This sleeve is perfect and the name of the band and the title of this album is a lesson about what to do to win some attention with quality and class!
It’s rare these days that you come across a group of musicians that don’t want to be recognized in some way for their hard work, but such is the case with Black Light Dinner Party—a quartet of four anonymous producers all hailing from the United States. Their music is pure electro-pop, and—despite operating off the gimmick of mystery—it displays a rarely found maturity.

Their first single, “Older Together,” is a gorgeous, melodic track. The opening crystal synthesizer oddly evokes memories of “Sprawl II” by Arcade Fire for me, which—while brilliant—is also dangerous, in that before they have even established themselves they can be compared to a mature band such as Arcade Fire. Their second single, “Small Boxes,” won’t draw any comparisons to more established bands, but it is fantastic nonetheless. Operating with a lovely crystal-y refrain, it’s an infectious and catchy track with some fantastic hooks that ultimately leave you satisfied with the experience as a whole.

I love the cover a first class originakl one, dont you?
Tropical is one of the bands with more hype on the internet for several months, takes out his debut album "Native To." An album full of melodies presented compelling and catchy synth pop with a retro feel and a tendency towards lo-fi, and that is to plug a gap in which there is a band that makes this particular type of music. And the style is tropical, is full of influences, a great mix of indie pop-rock bands like The Wombats 'and' Two Door Cinema Club, "and synth pop bands and electro pop, like 'Crystal Castles' 'The Whip' and 'The Black Ghosts'.

In the end I just found a great record and a very addictive sound. If the two songs developed by the band 'South Pacific' and 'The Greeks', and are super clear and rompepistas singles (especially 'The Greeks'), listen for the ten remaining others. WASHED OUT Within and Without

A new lo-fi record, I like it maybe because the so bad weather today or the low slow borring day I spend at the office, dont you!
This debut album 'Washed Out' is a project carried out by Ernest Greene,with the producer of Deerhunter and Animal Collective, Ben Allen, and comes after the brilliant and acclaimed EP 'Life of Leisure' for over a year ago.

And is that 'Washed Out' is one of the most important referents in a genre that is back relatively recently. A new chillwave is renewed day by day, living with the lo-fi and the glo-fi, and we find great bands like 'Teen Daze' or some tending strictly to glo-fi as 'Small Black'.

Certainly a very good album that surely like everyone who previously enjoyed the EP's 'Washed Out'. And with nine themes with lots of good melodic landscapes. Good songs such as 'Amor Fati', or two subjects developed 'Echoes' and 'Be Closed Eyes', drag getting to hear the rest of the songs sedate tempos and evocative melodies, accompanied by the kick of Ernest Greene.

C'est un nouveau Justice ou quoi?
Sebastian dans «Total» c'est à nouveau les éléments qui ont fait la gloire de Justice, y compris les sons, et l'imagerie. Ce disque est puissant, électronique, avec un grand nombre de chansons, 22 titres de haute qualité, en français!
C'est à écouter et puis mon penchant pour les belles pochettes première clef pour découvrir un groupe, là on est servis non?

FREDA PAYNE Band Of Gold

Bien que du début des années 70 ce premier album, Band of Gold, est un chef-d'œuvre aux proportions épiques. La pochette typique de cet période a une note incluse: "la musique des gens, pour ceux qui aiment la pop, rhythm and blues, ballades, chants - à peu près tout»!
C'est un vrai album de la Motown, en particulier à travers des chansons comme "hooker Generation". Avec la majorité des chansons co-écrite par Ron Dunbar, qui allait faire partie de l'empire P-Funk, «Payne» a séduit son public d'abord avec le hit «Band of Gold» avant de plonger dans "Deeper and Deeper".
Ces deux musiques sont des ballades d'amour downtempo, livré avec une maturité et une richesse qui dépasse la plupart des ballades de l'époque.
Cet album c'est une pierre précieuse, il faut ouvrir ses oreilles et se laisser porter ça en vaut la peine!!!

Seapony est l'un des meilleurs groupes pop de l'année 2011, et aurait été l'un des meilleurs en 1991, en 1981 aussi...

J ai envie de me souvenir de la saveur qu’avaient mes balades au travers des vignes et des champs à la fin de mon adolescence. Je partais loin physiquement et mentalement finissant accroupis contre un arbre, à regarder défiler les nuages et sentir le vent. Le monde me semblait si beau si genereux. Je me souviens aussi de cet ami qui partageait mes craintes, mes peines et mes angoisses. Il n’existait pas vraiment. Il m’accompagnait, pour de vrai, dans un coin de ma tête. Il est parti, sans que je m’en rende compte. Avec le temps, j’ai fini par oublier son nom.

Etrange début et pourtant, à l’écoute de the Human Octopus, on découvre un monde innocent et suave, puissant et vivant comme l’enfance. Pour peu que tu te laisses ravir les sens par la résonnance des notes savamment dosées, tu retrouveras des saveurs épicées uniques : ton premier bisou sur la joue, ton premier bobo, ta première grande réussite, ta première défaite, ton premier « c’est pas juste », ton premier chagrin ; le goût inoubliable des crêpes, des promenades à vélo,… The Human Octopus a ce pouvoir d’ouvrir les entrailles et de faire jaillir les émotions à la surface, sans qu’on comprenne comment, ni pourquoi. C est une douce invite à te lancer dans ce grand voyage intérieur, à la recherche de ce monde essentiel qui sommeille en chacun de nous. Il y a une infinie poésie et quelque chose de profondément cinématographique : Walker ou Highway 01 sont de ces morceaux si intenses qu’ils suscitent des images, au-delà des émotions. On le doit aux arrangements ingénieux, parfois peu perceptibles, qui enrichissent les compositions pourtant si simples. Non, il n’y a rien de mirobolant dans les mélodies. The Human Octopus n’en est pas moins un album d’une grâce inouïe. C’est même d’une simplicité déconcertante – tellement déconcertante d’ailleurs, qu’elle donne envie de se lever et de d'ecrire des chansons. Tout est impeccablement à sa place, au bon endroit, au bon moment. Your Shadow se construit sur des phrases musicales courtes, sans grands effets pompeux. Comme un prélude de Bach à la sauce jazzy- soul, Waitin est surprenant de sensualité. Le petit jeu de syncope dans le morceau lui donne un groove à faire moover les épaules en cadences. La facture classique du piano se retrouve aussi dans Meaning, qui a l’allure, la tristesse et la volupté d’une gymnopédie de Satie. La seconde version, qui clôture l’album, est bouleversante au point de te retourner le cœur. C’est comme si des mômes reprenaient les paroles d’un parent cher, disparu, dont ils honoreraient la mémoire. Enfin, ByeBye, est une véritable réussite. Il y a quelque chose d'Animal kingdom dans la voix et les mots.

As a prelude from Bach to the jazz-soul sauce, waitin is surprising sensuality. The little game of syncope in the song gives it a groove to moove shoulders cadences. The classical style of piano is also found in Meaning, who really looks, sadness and voluptuousness of Satie's Gymnopedie. The second version, which closes the album, is overwhelming to the point you return to the heart. It is as if the kids repeated the words of a dear relative, who died, they would honor the memory. Oui j ai vu ce groupe cette nuit sur WDR en live et la claque, comme si je voyais un concert de led Zeppelin des Cream et un peu des Doors par de jeunes mecs à peine sortis du berceau, c'est incroyable cette pêche et ce style, à écouter absolumment et surtout à voir en concert!

Under Stefan Koglek’s leadership, mastermind, singer and guitarist of the legendary stoner/psychedelic rock band Colour Haze, Elektrohash is the damn best stuff to blast your mind into the endless universe and back. Hypnos 69 are four Belgians and with ‘Legacy’ they created a mind-expanding masterpiece. ‘Legacy’ makes you happy because it was made by happy people. After listening to these transcendental tunes you walk around with a permanent smile in your face. You get over the gravity and float like a feather.

Hypnos 69 mixes a musical cocktail, which achieves perfection. The sound is so warm and pleasant like the sunbeams in the spring after a long cold winter. The equipment is 100 % vintage and Hypnos 69 doesn’t hesitate to expand their opulent equipment with synths, Hammond organs, flutes, saxophones, and other wind instruments but for all that the guitars are the primary instrument. Awesome guitar solos fill the room and you wish that this journey will never end. After 72 minutes the music stops but in your mind the music lingers on.

Par des signes musicaux mystérieux et évidentes portes à d’autres cultures Hawkwind a toujours cherché, en regardant vers les étoiles, à révéler les liens évidents qui unissent les hommes. Hawkwind met en garde contre la folie, la mégalomanie, l’ambition, la richesse et la sensation que nous disposons de ressources infines, et cela nous concerne tous à un certain point. Le titre est d’ailleurs une allusion certaine aux souffrances que l’espèce humaine fait endurer à notre terre du fait de sa cupidité et de sa cruauté toutes droites extraites de quelque livre de fantasy décadente. Ils n’explorent pas seulement l’univers dans cette sorte de montage pittoresque et imposant, mais ils cherchent à avoir un côté universel. C’est du moins ce que suggère sa musique, que sous-tend une angoisse toute particulière. Ils ont en même temps une forme très stéréotypée, et une force d’évocation très intéressante. Ils sont capables d’embrasser des contradictions ; de jouer de concepts aussi casse-gueule que des théories de science-fiction pour en faire le reflet d’aventures humaines. Ils sont je crois les seuls à filer un frisson d'héroic fantasy qui ne soit pas un truc fachiste! J'avais en 1969, j'étais si jeune, acheté leur premier album et je continue à les aimer et à planer, m'évader, c'est si bon!

The music on this album Happiness, by a young Manchester band is to pop back to the dawn of time. There has perhaps never been about doing anything but burst into tears or listen to this couple, huddled against each other, while the world crumbles around us. The situation is ridiculous but think that indie rock has not existed, that The Smiths are dead in a car accident in 1983 and that all this malice and that intelligence had been forever lost to the music. Types have continued to burn guitars and synths worship, would have risen from abject haired metal bands to get drunk off in peace. The rest of the world have continued to argue that synthetic music are the future of popular music and not talk about it Hurts the same way. In this alternate reality, Happiness was welcomed as the 8th wonder of the world. The album is a monster back, a row sublime and horrible at the time of "emotional songs" where the romance is so sticky that it clings to you like a slug in heat. Happiness refers only to loss and lovers who split up, with tears and rain. The imaging group is icy, like a gorgeous black and white precipitate. Theo Hutchcraft, singer, and Adam Anderson, keyboard, seem straight from a catalog of bungling the Factory, stuck somewhere between a photograph of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD for short) and Durutti Column. These guys are as smooth and boring as an old postcard and have about as much charisma and humor that the guys of Alphaville. But their songs are amazing and would do the most stupid whining clubbers if it had the idea to look at his feet before dancing.

La musique de cet album Happiness, par un jeune groupe de Manchester c'est de la pop venue de la nuit des temps. Il n’a peut-être jamais été question de faire autre chose que de fondre en larmes ou d’écouter ça en couple, serrés l’un contre l’autre, alors que le monde s’écroule autour de nous. La situation est ridicule mais imaginez que le rock indépendant n’ait pas existé, que The Smiths soient morts dans un accident de voiture en 1983 et que toute cette malice et cette intelligence aient à jamais été perdues pour la musique. Des types auraient continué de brûler des guitares et de vénérer les synthés, des chevelus abjects auraient monté des groupes métal pour se saoûler en paix. Le reste de la planète aurait continué à soutenir que les musiques synthétiques sont l’avenir des musiques populaires et on ne parlerait pas de Hurts de la même façon. Dans cette réalité alternative, Happiness aurait été accueilli comme la 8ème merveille du monde. L’album est une sorte de monstre rétro, une enfilade sublime et horrible à la fois de "chansons émotionnelles" où le romantisme est tellement poisseux qu’il s’accroche à vous comme une limace en rut. Happiness ne parle que de ruptures et d’amants qui se séparent, de larmes et de pluie battante. L’imagerie du groupe est glaciale, somptueuse comme un précipité de noir et blanc. Theo Hutchcraft, le chanteur, et Adam Anderson, le clavier, semblent tout droit venus d’un catalogue foireux de la Factory, coincés quelque part entre un cliché d’Orchestral Manœuvre In the Dark (OMD pour les intimes) et de Durutti Column. Ces types sont aussi lisses et chiants qu’une vieille carte postale et ont à peu près autant de charisme et d’humour que les mecs d’Alphaville. Mais leurs chansons sont épatantes et feraient chialer le plus débile des clubbers s’il lui venait l’idée de regarder ses pieds avant de danser.

Hello a new album will be currently avabl on 14th september so I have played this new one and it is not noisy, arty but is melancholic, arty and classy. Lot of machins but it is a really good one may be their best one so buy it if you find it it is recommanded for this sad automn, I love automn!

It is previously unreleased Helios material recorded between 2000 and 2009, sequencing the resultant tracks as a self-contained album. The resultant fifty minutes plays out as a wonderfully varied sequence that focusses on melodically resonant electronic music. You'll hear some of the compositional techniques they has become known for at work, cutting a tuneful, glitched-up swathe through opener 'Convivium', while the crunchily filtered, slow-core beats of 'Friedel' and 'Distance' channel a hazy, opiated quality. Taking this a little further, the creaking deep bass and beautiful electronic post-rock of 'Cross The Ocean' is touched by the influence of BOARDS OF CANADA, something that could also be said of the downtempo, beat-heavy ambience of 'Bounce Dive', though there's a more playful and openly tuneful quality to Kenniff's music compared to that of the Brothers Eoin, something highlighted by the airier, brighter productions of the Portlander's music. There's also a pronounced cinematic quality to all this, and you can well imagine Kenniff being recruited to score a film at some point down the line, especially given beautifully crafted, acoustic guitar-driven pieces like 'South Tree' or the upbeat, piano-heavy 'The Morning Room', both of which showcase this side of his output very strongly.

Les Foals j en avais déjà parlé lors de la sortie de leur album précédent et encore une fois très sûr de mon propre goût en toute simplicité je les avais recommandés en espérant beaucoup pour la suite et voilà le bestiau!
C'est à écouter plusieurs fois avant de lancer un avis définitif! Je trouve un peu des Clash et des Cure dans les arrangements et les chansons sont intelligentes. il y a du fond sur cet album de rock indé et cette pochette a un petit air de Nivana non?

The Foals I had already spoken about their previous album and again, very sure of my own taste easily I had recommended much hope for the future and that the beast!
It is to listen several times before issuing a final opinion! It is a little Clash and The Cure in the arrangements and the songs are intelligent. there is some background on this album of indie rock and this package has a small air of Nivana dont you think?

Je viens de voir un concert filmé en allemagne (open air quelquechose!)de ce groupe et j'ai été stupéfait par la ressemblance avec Coldplay! Voilà donc deux nouveaux albums de Coldplay!
Demain je retourne au Loft peindre je vais écouter ces deux albumqs en boucle!

I just watched a concert at the TV in Germany (Openair something!) With this band and I was amazed by the mirror effect to Coldplay! So two new Coldplay discs!
Tomorrow I return to the Loft to paint I will listen to these both all the day long at least!

C'est la chanteuse d'"Everything but the girl" et de "Massive Attack".

Sa musique est moins électoniques, un peu comme sur le premier album d'"Everything but the girl". Tracey Thorn sait, mieux que personne, nous emmener au fond de l'âme humaine, dans ces lieux solitaires du pathétique ou du beau.
Il y est question de ruptures, amoureuses le plus souvent. Avec ce goût, amer, du rêve brisé, des désirs avortés et du chemin que l'on poursuit, quand même, envers et contre tout. C'est un peu mon état d'ame du moment mais ça va!

Karen Elson est belle et anglaise une star des couvertures de magazine de mode. Et ce disque "The Ghost Who Walks"?
Sombre et planant, hanté par les spectres de Pj Harvey et Hope Sandoval, on est scotché par le son "vintage", les larmes et le sang, la douceur et l'amertume.Ma vie est un vrai bordel et grâce à ce jolie top model je retrouve l'appétit et le sens de la dignité.
Mon ami William AUSTIN me disait "music is everything" et il avait raison!!!
Si aoprès cette très courte chronique tu n'écoutes pas ce disque ne revient jamais sur mon blog, étranger, tu n'es pas bien venu!

Après l'excellent Blakroc, hip-hop et rock, le duo de l'Ohio, The Black Keys est de retour avec un album qui s'annonce comme la bande son des moiteurs estivales. Avec "Brothers " fini le blues punk minimaliste de leurs débuts, place au groove; c'est rock, c'est soul, c'est blues. Ils se paient l'audace d'écrire un chapitre musical digne de figurer dans le livre de la great black music. On y croise une flopée de superbes mélodies soulful mélancoliques à souhait, et de la première a la dernière seconde "Brothers" est une merveille!!!

This project is the work of Daniel Jönsson started already in 2005, but the following years were occupied with his involvement in Emerald Park, as a keyboard player and guitarist. But last year he spent the time necessary to complete the production of the album “A Story of Hurt”, which was released in the late autumn of 2009.
It sounds like indie bands of the nineties and the 00-ties, but above all I get a lot of eighties feelings from this record. Well, in the sound and the ambience in itself and from bands like The Cure, The Church and New Order. I get reminded of Alan Parsons Project in the grand ballad “Never Change Never Fade”, Pet Shop Boys take a peek in “Red Dead Flowers” and U2 in “She Said a Lot”. It’s a varied album with a changing degree of electronica- and guitar background, with an overall atmosphere containing a certain amount of darkness, and an album that grows with each listen.

It is beautiful!!!

It’s been a long three years, but London, ON rapper Shad has finally emerged from the studio with his first full-length album since 2007’s Polaris Music Prize short-listed The Old Prince.
Shad is keeping the meaning to that acronym a top secret.
TSOL is Shad’s third album. The album art is viewable above!
Speaking of TSOL, Shad said in a statement: "I can say it feels great to finish a new piece and the desire to make something new and interesting for my fans was a big motivation throughout. I feel grateful and excited to get to share new music on stage and in recorded form with them."
Shad (born Shadrach Kabango) began his recording career in 2005 after using the winnings from a radio rapping contest to fund his first album, When This Is Over. In 2007, he signed to Black Box and released his sophomore LP, The Old Prince, which garnered him a 2008 Juno nomination (Rap Recording of the Year), two 2009 MMVA nominations (Rap Video and VideoFACT Video of the Year) and a 2009 Indie Award (Favourite Urban Artist).
This hip hop record is cool you have to try it!

J'adore ce titre d'album, je l utiliserai sans doute comme titre d'un futur tableau!

Et question musique, ici c’est faire avec ses moyens au sens strict, faire avec soi même, faire avec une guitare en bois depuis 100 ans ou aujourd’hui. C’est un album dont la principale moelle est la solitude qui fouille l’intime et ne cherche pas le clinquant,une musique aussi par essence voyageuse, légere et nomade.

Il s'agit d'un artiste canadien, qui sort là son troisième album. Un homme dont les premières sorties fleuraient bon le slowcore à la Low ou Red House Painters, avec un côté Sparklehorse. Cette fois-ci – et même si l’on sentait déjà le tout venir depuis ‘My Life In Rooms’ – notre homme fait évoluer sa musique vers un folk plus proche d’un Tanakh ou d’un Lambchop.

Plus d’allant dans les compositions, moins de sinistrose que par le passé, Barzin enroule son folk d’un brin de pop, d’un peu d’americana, de jolies cordes et d’une production qui lui sied à merveille. Résultat? Des titres qui résonnent, un folk classieux et gracile et un sacré disque.

I love that album title, I'll use it probably as the title of a future painting!

And the music here is doing with its resources in the strict sense, be with yourself, do it with a wooden guitar for 100 years our from nowadays. It's an album whose main cord is loneliness that searches of private intimate liofe and does not look flashy music as inherently traveler, lightweight and mobile.

This is a Canadian artist, released her third album here. A man whose first releases smelled good to the slowcore Low or Red House Painters, Sparklehorse with one hand. This time - even if you already felt it all coming from 'My Life In Rooms' - our man is changing his music to folk music closer to a Tanakh or Lambchop.

More from the compositions, less pessimism than in the past, Barzin wraps folk sound with a hint of pop, a little Americana, beautiful strings and a production that suits it perfectly. Result? Titles that resonate, a classy and graceful folk and super record!

Ce matin j ai rejoué ce vieux disques de power pop américaine de 1979, quelle idée! Avec le soleil et une nuit courte ce disque me mets dans une espèce d'énergie nostalgique, il est excellent, très frais! Le second Louk out! est aussi très bon mais on sent une maturité poindre mais ces deux albums sont vraiment d'une qualité surprenante, allez je m'en remets une petite goutte!!!

This little morning I replayed this old lp of Power Pop an American one from 1979, strange idea, dont you think!
With the sunrise and a short night this lp put me in a sort of nostalgic energy, it is excellent, very fresh and cool! The second is Louk out! It is also very good but we feel a maturity appearing but these two albums are really of a surprising quality, so I take another glass of this smelly absynthe!!!

Efterklang est un bon groupe original avec un précédent disque, Parades qui l'un de ces si rares et marquants disques des dernières années. Il y avait cette qualité rare de la "nouveauté", un peu comme Beyrouth et Patrick Wolf faisant leur première apparition. Les espoirs sont donc élevés ici.
Les mélodies pop viennent au premier plan sur ces Magic. Le chanteur Casper Clausen semble proche du style de Chris Martin et j'aime ça. Bon ce disque mérite une écoute je vais le jouer en peignant cet aprés midi.

Yesterday afternoon I did a workshop with the classroom of Celine, in the sun, with full of creativity, the children were happy, like adults, it was magical.

Manifestation d’art et de culture dans le village de Castres-sur-Gironde, France, avec 10 artistes présentés par ''Le Parc des Arts'' et une invitée hollandaise.
DAKOTA présente dix oeuvres que nous allons pouvoir découvrir durant quinze jours dans les salons de l’ancien presbytère.
DAKOTA participe pendant la durée de l’exposition à une œuvre collective sous forme d’un Totem géant, qui sera proposée à dons (selon la Loi Aillagon), le dimanche 18 avril.
DAKOTA effectuera des interventions en milieu scolaire, en créant des ateliers d’arts plastiques pour et avec les enfants de Castres-Gironde, dans une salle de l’école avec la participation des enseignantes.

JOY DIVISION Closer and Unknown pleasures

By the time, this second album by this Manchester band seems to point straight at singer Ian Curtis's suicide, which happened a few months before it was released. The band's reverberating mesh of minor-key lines and Curtis's tremorous bass voice are doomy enough on their own, and attention to the words reveals references to blacker-than-black stories by J.G. Ballard and Joseph Conrad; the void and its terrors were splitting Curtis apart from the inside. "I put my trust in you," he sings, and his voice leaves no doubt that that trust has been betrayed. But the music, grim and powerful as it is, points to the direction the surviving members took as New Order, incorporating the mechanical gravity of club rhythms.

Je pense encore que j'ai écouté pour la prelière fois Joy Division pour de mauvaises raisons; J'étais dépressif au fond du trou un vrai chagrin d'amour et je cherchais à m'enfoncer encore plus dans la négation et le noir sombre pour peut-être renaitre, who knows!
Il m'arrive parfois de penser que mes goûts musicaux d'aujourd'hui, dans lesquels Joy Division tient une place centrale, se sont forgés sur des considérations totalement extérieures à la musique. La première fois que j'ai écouté ce disque, j'ai été choqué, au sens premier du terme, car tout ici contredisait la conception que j'avais d'un "bon" album jusque là. J'appréciais des chansons au son poli, à la mélodie simple et accrocheuse. Le rock de Joy Division avait un son brutal, sale. La voix de Ian Curtis me perturbait par l'approximation de son chant et le côté forcé de ses intonations sépulcrales. La guitare semblait mal accordée, égrenait des arpèges dissonnants, se perdait en hésitations, en lancinances soudaines. La basse, dominant le tout, mise au premier plan, sortait de son rôle d'accompagnement.
Mais le plus terrible ce sont ces paroles qui encore aujourd'hui me font toucher du doigt quelque chose en moi que j ai du mal à expliquer, cette profondeur et ce lyrisme noir, ça fait mal!
Ce sont deux albums majeurs de la rock music, urbains, littéraires et un esprit "dance" très froid incomparable, imparable!
J'écoute en boucle cet aprés midi ces deux albums en peignant de nouveaux tableaux, oh my God!

The blues is a distinctly American form of music, more specifically a black American form of music. When white people play the blues, they may have the pain and suffering required to make the music honest, but they try to emulate a culture they're not as familiar with, which leads them to having a distorted result. If it's not watered down blues, then it's something that's similar to the blues but is something of its own, like rock 'n' roll and early heavy metal. Those things aren't bad at all; I'm just saying, for the most part, white people don't play straight-up blues. Throw in the fact that the Yardbirds were all British, and suddenly we have a group that's two cultures removed from the music they're playing. But in spite of that, they're as close to real blues as Whitey's going to get. I've never thought a whole lot of Eric Clapton as a guitarist, but he rocks the house here. fRyars Dark young hearts

Je t'avais parlé du groupe Editors et malgré quelques regrets sur le dernier album je les crois très fort bon pour le top du top. Et là aussi, avec un disque qui fait la part belle aux claviers des années 80 et au chant délicieusement New Wave ce fRyars est super bon crois moi!!!.

Ben Garrett, l'homme derrière Fryars, n'a que 19 ans et déjà une belle maîtrise. Ayant débuté quelques années plus tôt en bricolant des sons sur son ordinateur (à l'aide, pour la petite histoire, d'outils gratuits), Garrett, après deux singles remarqués, sort son premier album en utilisant les souscriptions de ses fans. Et ça marche ! Et surtout l'album emprunte suffisamment les chemins de distribution traditionnels dans lesquels il faut bien inclure la distribution numérique, pour qu'il arrive aujourd'hui jusqu'à nos oreilles.

Et ça vaut la peine car ce Dark Young Hearts est une belle réussite. Dans un style plutôt New Wave donc, Garrett propose une pop toute british avec son accent élégant et sa voix de crooner que l'on pourrait caser quelque part entre Dave Gahan et Ian Broudie, sombre et élégant, pop et crooner, subtile et sexy sans jamais donner l'impression d'en faire trop.

De ritournelles popisantes ("The ides") en hommage Cold Wave ("Lakehouse"), les titres s'enchaînent et les synthétiseurs se mêlent à des sonorités plus classiques ("A last resort", belle ballade presque acoustique ou le très beau "Benedict Arnold" avec ses choeurs féminins venus tout droit d'un album des Cocteau Twins). Il y a sur cet album quelques très bons titres comme "Of march" qui, justement, rappelle un peu The Editors ou encore le génial et entrainant "Ananas trunk railway" joliment foufou.

Here is a Post-rock band from Berlin,when I feel sad I am remenbering Berlin during the eighties at the time I met Iggy POP David BOWIE and Robert FRIPP a very strange mood!
It is instrumental rock with heavy guitar riffing and shaking hands with psychedelic and calm elements. As most bands with this description tend to explore dark and depressive moods, these guys change between timid beauty and hard boiled reality in tough playing, always based on a driving rhythm section. It is so good in this grey winter, try it is to get it!
